Community Service

Cincom Values Community

Cincom has always had a sense of place and home. In fact, the name Cincom is derived from “Cincinnati,” the hometown of CEO, Tom Nies, and where Cincom offices have been located from day one. That feeling compels us to “give forward” to the communities where we operate in a number of different ways. Following are just a few of the ways that Cincom, corporately, as well as individually through our amazing employees, is an active participant in the world around us.

Annual MS Walk Fundraiser

Multiple Sclerosis hits close to home for Cincom. We sponsor a team for Walk MS: Cincinnati, and some of our employees have “run with a purpose” in the Louisville Ironman that battles MS. Cincom also has a Never Quit donation website as part of its effort to fight MS.

Cycle for Survival

Cincom Smalltalk Program Director and Engineering Manager, Suzanne Fortman, has taken action against rare cancers by participating in “Cycle for Survival.”

The University Grant Program

Cincom software was donated to universities for educational study and real-world modelling. Recipients include Northern Kentucky University and the Ohio University College of Business.

Additionally, to encourage rising entrepreneurs, Cincom created the Cincom: Encouraging Entrepreneurship (CEE) Program. Through the CEE initiative, Cincom joins forces with educational institutions and other non-profit organisations to support and encourage entrepreneurial activity throughout the world by donating software, services and resources to assist aspiring entrepreneurs, as well as providing mentoring and interning opportunities.

CARE — Community Awareness Reach-Out Events

Each year our CARE committee of volunteer Cincomers holds a number of events in an effort to raise funds to help families in our community during the Christmas season. We have a raffle in December where you can win prizes including two round-trip air tickets, among many other prizes. Throughout the year, we hold cookouts, bake sales, chili cook-offs, ice-cream socials, competitive basket raffles − anything we can do to raise money for this good cause. All proceeds go to families in need. It’s all for fun, and for the past 30+ years, it has enabled us to help hundreds of children and their families enjoy their Christmas.

United Way

Every year, Cincom gives back to the community by participating in fundraising for local United Way agencies.

Social and Environmental Management

Cincom is also committed to being a good corporate citizen as it pertains to its staff and the environment. We do this by complying with all employee and environmental laws and regulations. We follow the practices typical for the software services sector and for companies of our size. At our headquarters, we work with our building management, CB Richard Ellis (CBRE), to reduce energy use and greenhouse gas emissions and increase recycling. CBRE has won multiple awards from the EBA for their continued leadership in protecting the environment. For more information about Cincom’s Social and Environmental Management System, please contact
